Note: This article was written for an early version of Android. The screens and UI may have changed, but the idea is the same.
Disable Android Touch and Key Sounds
In the main menu, click Settings. Then tap on Sound.
Then tap on Sound.
Now, scroll all the way down the menu and uncheck Keytones and Touch Sounds under System.
The settings above will be named something different on other versions of Android and devices. Navigate through the menus, and uncheck the option to turn off Touch Tones.
Modern Android System Sounds
Here is a more modern version of Android running version 10 on a OnePlus 6T. You go to Settings > Sound & Vibration > System Sounds.
